"Mom! Mom!" Lexi shouts as she runs to me excitedly. "I have a loose tooth!!". I gently touch the tiny pearl that is her bottom tooth and sure enough, it wiggles ever so slightly in her gum. I inspect closer and discover that Mr. Tooth's neighbor is not to be out done, for indeed she has TWO loose teeth!
"Well, Sis", I say to her. "Looks like you have two loose teeth". Her eyes widen as she smiles proudly at this. "I DO? I'm gonna have all big teeth soon-like you, Mommy!"As she runs off to share the good news with her brothers, I watch her go and think to myself, "How did that happen? Indeed, WHEN did that happen?" Just the other day she was wrapped in a fuzzy, pink blanket with NO teeth!
*sigh* I really do need to stop blinking.
